Aqueous solution characteristics
Low foaming
Due to its molecular structure, Nichigo G-Polymer™ has excellent low foaming
characteristics in aqueous solutions.
Aqueous solutions with excellent workability can be achieved without adding antifoaming agent.

Left: Fully saponified PVOH
【Test Method】
Put 1%
aqueous solution (200 ml) into a 1L graduated cylinder, blow in 300 cc/min of air through a sparger,
and observe the height of the foam over time.

Viscosity stability of aqueous solution
Aqueous solutions of Nichigo G-Polymer™ demonstrate excellent viscosity stability stored at low
temperatures.
In addition, by controlling the crystallinity, the thickening of the aqueous
solution can also be controlled.

Nichigo G-Polymer™ aqueous solution features resistance to the occurrence of flow abnormality
even under high shear conditions.
Partially saponified type PVOH; Degree of saponification:88 mol%
Nichigo G-Polymer™ is stable resisting thickening even in aqueous solutions that have high
concentrations of alkali.
【Test Method】
Mix 12% aqueous solution and 20% NaOH aqueous solution 1:1.
Observe solution
condition after being left for 3 days at 23℃.

The viscosity of each pH stored at low temp.(5℃) or room temp.(23℃) was
measured.
Fully saponified PVOH stored at low temp, formed gel in one day. On the contrary, the
viscosity of Nichigo G-Polymer™ with any pH remained stable.
【Test Method】
Measure the viscosity of 7% aqueous solutions with pH=3, 8 and 13 stored at
5℃ or 23℃ for a month.
Although fully saponified PVOH does not dissolve in the solution with 30% alcohol, Nichigo
G-Polymer™ can be dissolved in 50% alcohol.
